Hatsune Miku, the "World Is Mine" vocaloid performer, will bring her digital reality to life with a performance on The Late Show With David Letterman and east and west coast concerts.

This is the first time Miku has played to an American TV audience. Miku's appearance will give American audiences a preview of the Miku Expo shows.

Hatsune Miku will sing on The Late Show with David Letterman on October 8.

Though only a virtual pop star, Hatsune Miku is no mere hologram performer. The David Letterman performance will be a projected show.

According to Anime News, Miku is also set to appear in concert in Los Angeles and New York City in October as part of The Hatsune Miku Expo tour.

The Los Angeles Hatsune Miku Expo performance will be held at the Nokia Theatre on October 11 and October 12. The New York City Hatsune Miku Expo will hit downtown at the Hammerstein Ballroom on October 17 and 18.

The last time Hatsune Miku performed was as the opening act for Lady Gaga's ArtRave: The Artpop Ball tour, which ran from May 6 to June 3.

Hatsune Miku was created by Crypton Future Media's vocaloid software.

Hatsune Miku started as an avatar music software that designed to let people produce original music with her synthesized voice. Hatsune Miku songs have inspired over 110,000 songs and have gathered over 88 million YouTube hits. Miku has also produced two Top 10 Singles.

Miku made her U.S. debut in 2011 at the 20th annual Anime Expo in Los Angeles.
