Alecia Moore (also known as P!nk) announced earlier this month that she and Dallas Green of "City and Colour" have combined to create a new country and folk-flavored project titled "You+Me." According to Radio, Moore made the announcement on her 35th birthday, and has since released a lyric video for their debut single "You+Me." Most recently, Moore revealed that the album's second single "Break The Cycle" was kind of like a love song dedicated to her mother.

Moore told the Huffington Post, "We were at the bar talking and I really wanted to write a song about my mom... It didn't turn out to be quite the love song I thought it would be, but it's very honest and came out to be so much more," conveying some of her thoughts while she wrote the lyrics.

"Break the Cycle" keeps in line with the acoustically driven tone of the first track, "You+Me," and Green and Moore sing an octave apart throughout the entire song. In the chorus, they harmonize with a more upbeat feel, singing the lyrics, "Let me heal the wounds you've held on to for all these years/Break the cycle, break the chains/Love is louder than all your pain."

Green stated, "The words of the chorus is the loving, nurturing part...I did not expect the song to turn out the way it did and it's so good." As for the album as a whole, Green told Moore, "It doesn't sound like you featuring me, or me featuring you. It sounds like us."

According to a statement from their label, the pair met through Moore's husband Carey Hart and instantly felt a connection and wanted to work together. Moore invited Green to Los Angeles to write a song or two and ended up writing eight songs together in one week. As a result, the pair decided to finish and record an album.

Moore and Green's debut album "Rose Ave." will be released on October 14, and it will be made up 10 brand new songs. To listen to a few of their songs in advance, head over to their website at this location.
