Electronic Music Festival in October Expected to be a 'Global Gathering'

The Electronic Music Festival 2012 in October will be the biggest event in Korea that is expected to become a global event bringing all types of people together.

The Electronic Music Festival has been scheduled to take place on October 5 and 6. The hosting party of the Electronic Music Festival will be selling "blind tickets," which means that the tickets will go on sale even before list of the featuring musicians announced to the public. The blind tickets will go on sale on August 8 at approximately $110 USD for both days of the festival.

This year's Electronic Music Festival is the 4th time the global gathering was scheduled to take place in Korea.  In the past, the event was held at the Seoul Han River Park and famous electronic musicians like Prodigy, Under World, Royksopp, Justice, and Pet Boy Slim have attended the festival in the past. An estimated total of 100,000 people have reportedly attended the Electronic Music Festival in the previous 3 years combined.

This year however, the Electronic Music Festival is scheduled to take place at a new location. The location will be revealed on August 8.

The "Global Gathering" began in England in 2002 and currently 8 countries hold an Electronic Music Festival annually, bringing over 700,000 people together globally. Korea is the only country in Asia that received the special license to hold this event in the nation.

The Electronic Music Festival is strongly supported and attended by regular club goers who have a unique and creative sense of fashion that have always drawn attention.

Also, the Electronic Music Festival is slowly changing the focus of Korea's focus on Rock Music Festivals. Global events like Ultra Music Festival and Sensation are said to be major influences to this change in focus.
