ope Solo is the latest “Fappening” victim to speak out against the massive hacking and leaking of celebrity nudes. In a statement released Wednesday, the soccer player condemned the violation of privacy and suggested that she will pursue legal action. In addition, Solo used the opportunity to speak about the domestic violence charges she currently faces, insisting once again that she is innocent.

Solo begins her statement saying, “It is extremely sad and unfortunate that the rights of so many women were violated by the unauthorized release of private photographs.” She continues, “This goes beyond the bounds of human decency and, as such, I stand united with all the women affected and am exploring every option to protect my privacy.”

On the subject of her arrest in June for allegedly hitting her sister and nephew, Solo says, “While I understand the public desires more information regarding the allegations against me, I continue to maintain my innocence against these charges. And once all the facts come to light and the legal process is concluded I am confident that I will be fully exonerated.” 

The incident, which took place at a family gathering, has made waves among the media and sports fans. In the wake of the string of domestic violence scandals involving the NFL – which have lead to the suspensions of football players Ray Rice and Adrian Peterson – many feel that there is a double standard in play, as Solo has been allowed to continue playing on Team USA. The soccer player has pleaded not guilty, and despite the assertion by the police that the victims were left with “visible injuries on them,” Her attorney believes, “There’s going to be a very strong defense in this case.”
