Crown J on Probation, Acquitted of Assaut Charges

Crown J(Gye-hoon Kim, 32), who was indicted for pressuring his former manager to pay off his debt, was sentenced to 8 months in jail and 2 years probation.

On December 7, Seoul Central Criminal Courthouse 1 (judge Hyun-gook Ha) sentenced Crown J along with 2 others to 8 months in jail and 2 years probation. They had been arrested and indicted for assault and other charges (joint bodily injury and coercion).

The justice department revealed, "It's difficult to acknowledge Crown J's joint bodily injury charges based solely on his former manager Mr. 'A's testimony. However, he has been pronounced guilty for the charge of forcing a contract on Mr. 'A'."

However, he was pronounced innocent in regard to the assault charges.

Crown J was indicted last year for - with the aide of friends - assaulting former manager, Mr. 'A', and making him fill out a contract wchich stated he would give up his yacht worth upwards of 10 billion won ($10 mil USD).

According to the prosecution, Corwn J was alleged to have lured Mr. 'A' out to a specialized coffee house in Shin-sa-dong on August 29. There, along with 3 friends, he assaulted Mr. 'A' and inflicted injuries that took 2 weeks to heal.

Crown J was also charged with later taking Mr 'A' to his house in Heng-dang-dong, taking the title to his multi-million dollar yacht, and forcing him to fill out a contract of release.
