SPICA Discuss Their Unique Style Concepts & Sophisticated Vocals [Exclusive Interview]

B2M Entertainment’s SPICA are among the strongest female vocalists in K-Pop. SPICA channels the harmonies of iconic ‘60s American girl groups which helps the group differentiate itself in the crowded market of Korean pop.

SPICA officially debuted in February 2012 with the six track mini album “Russian Roulette.”

Since their debut, SPICA have received praise for their singles “Tonight” and “You Don’t Love Me.” The ‘60s-inspired track “You Don’t Love Me” exemplifies the characteristic sound of SPICA, making the track aurally complimentary for their recent release “I Did It.”

In August, SPICA visited the United States to support their English language release “I Did It.”

The concept for “I Did It” merged sleek, modern fashion with West Coast pinup style.

Kpopstarz had the opportunity to talk to SPICA during a styling session at Dimepiece Studios, prior to their performance at West Hollywood’s Rage Nightclub. The women of SPICA were visually stunning during their styling session at Dimepiece.

The members of SPICA spoke to Kpopstarz about the concept behind “I Did It,” their individual style, and their experiences in performing before audiences in the United States.

SPICA followed their pre-KCON performance at Rage Nightclub with a stellar stage at KCON, delivering one of the most memorable stages.

SPICA followed up their U.S. appearance by announcing their subgroup SPICA.S on September 1. B2M Entertainment also announced the upcoming solo debut of SPICA’s Boa.

On September 12, SPICA.S released “Give Your Love,” an uptempo pop track which highlighted the vocal capabilities of Narae, Juhyun, Jiwon, and Bohyung.

With the introduction of their subunit and upcoming solo project, SPICA continues to provide audiences with the opportunity to support a K-Pop girl group which clearly differentiates itself from its contemporaries.
