Amanda Bynes DUI Update: Star Reportedly Had Adderall In Her System At Time Of Arrest, Parents Claim They Don’t Know Where She Is

Amanda Bynes was reportedly taking Adderall when she was arrested for a DUI on Sunday. The actress, who was caught driving under the influence on Sunday in Van Nuys, appears to be lying low after this latest offense.

However, it has also been reported that her parents, Rick and Lynn Bynes, do not know their daughter's whereabouts.

Amanda was pulled over in the San Fernando Valley on Sunday when she stopped her Mercedes in the middle of an intersection in an attempt to halt for a red light. A California Highway Patrol then determined that the star was likely under the influence of a controlled substance and arrested her for a DUI.

In addition to having adderall in her system, which was reportedly prescribe by a doctor, TMZ reports that the former child recently stopped taking her anti-psychotic medication for Schizophrenia and bipolarity.

Due to a string of run-ins with the law and a stint in rehab in 2013, which was brought on by alleged mental health issues, Bynes was under the conservatorship of her parents until this past June.

However, after moving out of her parents home in Sherman Oaks, California and into her own in Orange County, it appears that things have been going south for the former Nickelodeon star.

"It's very obvious that she is not 100 percent well," a source told PEOPLE. The insider, who allegedly attended the same gym as Bynes, continued, "She is still obsessed with her body and spends more time in front of the mirror than she actually works out. She doesn't like when people look at her and has even confronted a few other members."

"Her parents were closely monitoring her, including her driving," another source told the publication. "She would have arguments with her dad in the car."

After Bynes was released from custody on Sunday, her father Rick told a camera-man shooting for X17 (reported by USA Today) that he hadn't seen his daughter since her DUI arrest.

"We know nothing about this. We were called by the press," said Rick. "I'm getting calls all day long. That's all I know."

Bynes' father reportedly added, "She's 28. She does what she wants."

According to another report by TMZ, friends of Bynes claim that her parents don't believe their daughter even has a mental illness.

"They think she's a bratty kid who thumbs her nose at them and smokes a lot of pot," a source told the website.
