Media Blitz Begins For EXO D.O's Film Debut As A Rebel Teen In ‘Cart’

SM Town is cranking up the hype machine for EXO member D.O with the release of making-of and press conference photos for his big screen debut as the rebellious son of a contract worker fighting for her rights in the Korean movie Cart.

D.O will play as Taeyoung, the intractable son of a mother of two, played by seasoned actress Yum Jung-Ah, who joins a labor strike against her discount retail store employer when it unfairly fires her and other women contract workers.

During the press conference, D.O admitted that he was quite worried about playing as a rebel teen because it was far removed from his real-life experience. Still, he worked hard in order to portray the character convincingly, according to MWave.

In keeping with his rebel teen role, D.O embodied a gentleman rocker by wearing a color block jacket and leather lace-up boots.

SM Town also released photos of D.O on the set while filming for the Cart poster where he wore a preppy schoolboy outfit.

D.O will be credited in the film under his real name, Do Kyungsoo, which he will be using to promote his acting activities. Cart will have a short run at international film festivals until its official premier in November.

Cart had its world premiere during the 39th Toronto International Film Festival in early September. It will then go on to show at the 19th Busan International Film Festival on October 2-11 and the Hawaii International Film Festival on October 30 to November 9.

The film debut is an exciting leap for D.O who has just finished his recurring role in the SBS drama It’s Okay, That’s Love as a high school student named Han Kang Woo with big dreams of becoming a bestselling author.
