Despite the current conflict between her SM Entertainment, Girls' Generation's Jessica Jung is expressing her condolences to the label's founding chairman Lee Soo Man after the passing of his wife.

On Sunday, October 5, SM Entertainment confirmed the passing of Lee Soo Man's wife Kim Eun Jin on September 30, the same day as when Jessica announced she would no longer be a part of Girls' Generation.

"Lee Soo Man's wife Kim Eun Jin has passed away on September 30 from small intestine cancer," read the official statement from SM Entertainment. "Her cancer was first discovered in December 2012 and after a large surgery in January 2013, she has been continuously receiving treatments such as chemotherapy."

"Lee Soo Man stayed by her side day and night as soon as her cancer was discovered until the moment of her death. But ultimately, her cancer relapsed. After two years of fighting the illness, she has passed away on September 30, 2014."

Jessica has been absent from the online social media portal Weibo since using it to announce her departure from Girls' Generation on September 30. However, she returned today with a new post to send her condolences to Lee Soo Man.

"I was surprised when I heard this sudden news. My heart was uneasy. I respectfully pray that the deceased rest in peace. Please accept my deepest condolences. My thoughts and prayers are with you. She will be greatly missed."

"The mismanagement of SM is not his fault, especially now that he's stepped down. It's like a restaurant. You order food but if it comes to you bad poorly, whose fault is it? The cooks and the head chef; the boss is hardly to blame because he hired other people to look after the other things."
