Woollim Entertainment To Debut Eight Member Female Group Next Month
Is SM Entertainment trying to offset the recent revelation that singer Jessica Jung has left their popular K-Pop girl group Girls' Generation?
Woollim Entertainment, the agency that partnered up with SM's subsidiary SM C&C last year, is going to debut a new eight-member female group.
Known for major K-Pop artists such as INFINITE, Nell, and Tasty, Woollim Entertainment is finally going to have a female group all their own.
A representative from the record label confirmed that Woollim Entertainment will debut the new eight member female group next month.
The representative spoke to Korean news media Newsen and said, "Woollim's girl group will make their debut early next month. We ask that you look forward to it."
For five years, Woollim Entertainment has been reportedly preparing the ladies. Now they are ready to make their debut next month.
So far, three members have been confirmed for the new group: Baby Soul, Yoo Ji Ae, and Lee Mi Joo. All three ladies are currently signed with the record label and have released, or been featured in, a music video.
Lee Mi Joo is known as the woman featured in INFINITE's music video for "Last Romeo." Baby Soul did a duet with Yoo Jia titled, "She's A Flirt" back in January 17, 2012. Yoo Ji Ae released a single titled, "Delight" on April 24, 2013.
As the new group's debut gets closer, each of the other members will be introduced by Woollim.
