Halloween Look: Vampire Diaries Makeup Tutorial

Wanna stand out this coming Halloween season? Scary but pretty, boys would go gaga over you. Here is an idea from your favorite Vampire program. As much as we love to get all dressed up in an awesome costume, no Halloween look is complete without the makeup. Sometimes all you need is a subtle finishing touch. This makeup tutorial shows us how to do the sexy vampy look -- inspired by The Vampire Diaries!

Well-chosen colors and places to apply them work wonders. They are able to transform an average Jill into a seductress, heartbreaker, queen of darkness, and whoever you wish to be. They open up a new layer of your personality. The layer that you keep secret from the world but are ready to reveal to a special someone. Halloween is a great opportunity to transform into a new person or remain yourself but the version of yourself that you normally hide. If your soul gravitates towards something Gothic, mystical, and dangerous, you can express your inclinations with The Vampire Diaries makeup. All you need is this tutorial, cosmetics, and some boldness!

Okay, you might need a little more than that. Good brushes (you will need a brush for precise application, a pencil brush for fine lines, and a brush for blending) are the key to neat, professional-looking makeup. If you haven't been able to apply shadows as amazingly as makeup artists from YouTube, it's not because you have something wrong with your hands, but because you don't have the right tools. Next, you will need a palette of eye shadows featuring rich colors. Make sure to choose shadows with a light texture and subtle shimmer effect. They are easy to apply and will not crease. In this video, our beautiful vampire-to-be uses the Take Me to Brazil pallet by BH, but you can take any shadow kits as long as they provide similar colors and texture.

Vampires have a dramatic gaze and you just need to emulate it. If you have super volumizing and curling mascara, then go for it. However, I recommend something more expressive such as eyelash extensions or false eyelashes. Of course, this is an option for those who already have experience with such eyelashes. Otherwise, your experiments may end up with red eyes - this can add to your vampire image but don't go to extreme measures. After all, our goal is a sexy vampire, not a scary one.

As you know, vampires do not have blood circulation. That is why their faces are so pale. The correct tone of pallor will set off your dramatic eyes and lips. But the wrong tone can turn you into a zombie, and this is not at all what we want. Therefore, it is vital to find a balance between pallor and your natural complexion. If you think that you have gone too far with white powder, blush will come in handy. A touch of red on the cheekbones will add life to the deathly pallor. Plus, it will create the illusion that you just have had a fine bloody dinner.

In addition to the eyes, vampire makeup should focus on the lips. I recommend matte lipsticks in shades varying from blood red to maroon. You should probably refrain from adding trickles of blood around your lips as this will make your look too literal. Other than that, they may look sloppy.

When your makeup is finished, think about accessories. These can be fangs, lenses, a wig, and body paint. Don't forget about jewelry - gothic rings or pendants will felicitously complete your look. Now that there is one more sexy vampire, boldly show this new you to the world.
