MBLAQ Fans Call For Calm As Lee Joon & Thunder Mull Departures

Two of the five members of MBLAQ, Lee Joon and Chundong (also known by his stage name, Thunder), are supposedly considering leaving the group, but some fans are clinging to the possibility that they will still stay on.

The glimmer of hope comes from the fact that there is no final word yet confirming the rumors the two members are leaving.

While it is true that Lee Joon has not renewed his contract, MBLAQ's agency J.Tune Camp clarified in an official statement that negotiations are still ongoing and that the departure of the two idols has not been made official, according to DKPopNews.

"Expect their official decision after the concert in November," says the statement in DKPopNews, referring to MBLAQ's "Curtain Call" concert scheduled for November 29 and 30 at Olympic Hall in Seoul, South Korea.

More optimistic fans are urging others to focus on supporting the group in their upcoming solo concert instead of entertaining the thought of MBLAQ becoming a trio or taking on new members to replace the Lee Joon and Thunder, as rumors have been suggesting.

"Despite of all these rumors coming out, we, A+ should stay strong and positive. We better just wait for their official announcement," said MBLAQ Philippines, that country's official fan club on its Facebook page.

It is speculated that Lee Joon will be leaving the group to focus on his blossoming acting career. The idol-actor has landed increasingly larger roles in both film and TV, the most recent of which are as a serial killer fan in tvN's Gap-dong and a village leader's son in Guest.

Meanwhile, Thunder's reason for possibly splitting from the group has not been made clear by neither the singer nor the agency, although Allkpop refers to rumors that "Thunder has ultimately decided to walk his own path, and will return as a solo artist and producer in the future."
