The synopsis for episode 4, titled "Apologies Are Dangerous," reads: "Dawson tries to strike a balance with Casey during her first day as a candidate. Meanwhile, Mills ponders an uncertain future; Severide faces his demons; and a city inspector visits Molly's."

According to Cartermatt, this episode will put Severide in a tense situation - will he be able to handle it and save himself? While aboard the subway, passengers scream that someone is shooting on the subway, putting him in a situation where he must try to save the lives of others - but also make sure to get out alive.
