Parodies of Psy's 'Gangnam Style': How Far Will They Go?

Psy's "Gangnam Style" has been making headlines for its explosive success in the United States creating a rise in the numbers of cover videos.

Today (August 11), a video clip titled, "Gangnam Trainee Style" on YouTube drew attention in the online community. The video is a parody created by a group of trainees in an unnamed entertainment agency.

The 3 minutes and 50 second long video clip shows 4 male trainees wearing masks and dances to the choreography of Psy's "Gangnam Style." Their impressive dancing skills clearly show that they are, indeed, trainees in preparation to become idol group members.

The main factor of the video that drew attention is the customized lyrics that express their lifestyles. The lyrics include lines like, "We go into the coffee shop all confident and drink canned coffee", "Cleaning, cooking, doing laundry we're number one husband material~" and "When will we finally be on TV" and expressed their emotional trainee lifestyle.

Although there is a line that goes along the lines of "We're singing clowns~ no~" and expressed their dedication to become a real singer. Their agency has not been identified and drew, which drew even more attention because of the mystery.

People in the online community who saw the cover video by the trainees responded with comments like, "Even trainees are inspired by Psy's music. Psy is a true entertainer of this generation", "Feels like we're getting an insight of the trainees in line to become the next hot star" and "I'm so curious as to which idol groups they will be part of."
