Red Velvet Top Pop Charts In China

Rookie K-pop group Red Velvet has grasped the hearts of fans by telling them to "Be Natural."

After debuting in August with their track "Happiness," Red Velvet is now breaking into the Chinese music industry with their second single.

Along with K-pop group T-ARA, Red Velvet was seen ranking No. 1 on China's popular music video site iQiyi with the music video for their track "Be Natural," which was released on October 9, according to the Korean publication Osen Entertainment. Red Velvet beat out Korean pop star IU on the Chinese music chart for this past week.

The music video for "Be Natural" also came in at No. 2 on the Chinese music video site YinYueTai's Weekly "V" Chart as well. Aside from topping various music charts, Red Velvet continues to impress their growing fan base with the release of their latest music video.

"Please tell me I'm not the only one who really likes the choreography in this MV," commented YouTube user Amy Le.

Social media user Jaiden Kang added, "I don't care what anybody else says. I love it!"

Red Velvet was introduced to K-pop fans in China after they took the No. 1 slot in the Korean section of iQiyi's music weekly chart with their music video for "Happiness," according to the media outlet enewsWorld. Aside from music charts in China, the girl group made it in the top 10 on the iTunes single chart in five countries around Asia.

Red Velvet will be performing on the Korean music program "Show! Champion" tomorrow. The day after, the girls will make an appearance on Mnet's "M! Countdown" while they are scheduled to perform on the KBS program "Music Bank" and the SBS music variety show "Inkigayo" over the weekend.

Red Velvet changed their musical concept for "Be Natural," which brought fellow YouTube user talesoftheabyss1 to call them a "confusing group." However, the members are clearly not hesitant with experimenting.

"I think we can do all genres. Even a sexy concept. At the company [SM Entertainment], we're told we have a fascinating charm, that we're captivating women. There's a reason we used the words 'Red Velvet' for our team name," stated member Irene during an interview with the Korean media outlet Naver.
