T-ARA to Release New Song in Late August: Is it Too Soon?

K-Pop idol group T-ARA stopped their promotion activities quickly after the bullying controversy among the members.

The bullying controversy regarding Hwayoung of T-ARA exploded in the media and became a serious social issue. T-ARA stopped the promotion of their album as a result. However, it has been revealed that T-ARA is scheduled to release a new song in late August. Since then, many people are expressing their concern that it is too soon for T-ARA to release a new song.

According to a representative in the music industry, T-ARA is planning to release a new song called "Sexy Love" at the end of this month. The representative stated, "Core Contents Media have decided to work with the distributors Loen Entertainment in order to release their song in late August." Another representative in the music industry commented, "It appears as T-ARA has chosen late August to release their new song. People are saying that they recently began working on the filming process for the music video."

The song "Sexy Love" will be a follow up of T-ARA's song "Day by Day", which received explosive response after its release in July. "Sexy Love" is expected to be another hit that is predicted to give T-ARA wings that will help them break away from their bullying crisis especially because the song was created by Shinsadong Tiger who previously created T-ARA's hit songs like "Bo Peep Bo Peep", "Roly Poly", and "Lovey Dovey."

Regardless of the quality of their new song, T-ARA, as well as Core Contents Media have been receiving harsh criticism after their bullying controversy surrounding the "victim" Hwayoung. As a result, T-ARA postponed their first exclusive concert in Korea as well as stop their promotion activities.

As soon as news regarding T-ARA's new song was announced, many responded with negative feedback, questioning the timing of everything. A great number of people are already doubtful of T-ARA's success so soon after their controversy. It has not yet been clarified whether T-ARA members will begin appearing on TV shows to promote their new song. The majority of the people who are aware of T-ARA's controversy believe that they should make careful moves seeing that Soyeon, Eunjung and Hyomin are still receiving harsh criticism for their appearances on TV shows and dramas. It may not be such a good idea to return so quickly.

In the midst of this rising curiosity regarding why T-ARA is rushing the release of their new song, people are stating that Kim Kwang Soo of Core Contents Media probably felt that nothing will be different whether they return now or later.

According to a representative in the music industry, "The popularity of the Olympic Games has put out the fire on the T-ARA's controversy and this is something Kim Kwang Soo is going to have to face sooner or later. It might be a smarter idea to have T-ARA jump right back into the field to get their spotlight back."

T-ARA is scheduled to release "Sexy Love" on August 15.
