The "My Little Pony" movie release date will be set at 2017 with a big theater debut as well.

According to the report of the Variety, the Hasbro Studios disclosed that the "My Little Pony" movie release date is set at 2017.

The Hasbro Studios will take the incharge of producing and financing the animated film, "on the broadest possible number of screens," according to Stephen Davis, the president of Hasbro Studios and global entertainment and licensing for Hasbro Inc.

"We're very excited about the potential of that movie," Davis said in the report of the Variety. "We will continue to make big tentpole movies with our studio partners, but there is another set of movies where we feel we have an opportunity to have a bit more control over the budgeting, financing, calendarization, marketing and creative of our films. There are new economic models that fit certain films."

He added: "We have a lot of experience working on this particular brand. Film and TV is a key driver and very important part of the building blocks for a company like Hasbro. It's where we want to use the great stories to activate our brands."

Furthermore, according to Variety, the segment My Little Pony, Nerf Rebelle and other toy lines has increased its sales up to 5% to $407.7 million of the company's third quarter.
