SMTOWN, Music Nation, That Made Music for 16 Years

Starting with the group H.O.T that swept away China in 1990s to BoA who gained huge popularity in Japan, TVXQ that conquered Asia, and Super Junior and Girls' Generation that even went out to Europe, SM Entertainment is the head runner of the K-POP wave.

'SM TOWN LIVE WORLD TOUR III in Seoul' held today was an event that proved this.

SM even involved a proclamation that declared that music makes the world one. Fans from all over the world, including Canada, China, France, Germany, Japan, and Hong Kong, walked the parade with SM Town artists.

TVXQ's member Yunho and Changmin raised the 'SMTOWN' flag, and H.O.T's past member Kangta and BoA read the SMTOWN declaration.

They said, "Though countries all over the world speak different languages, they become one through SM's music. We made 'SMTOWN' in order to break the walls that exist between different nations. You have been invited as a member of MUSIC NATION 'SM Town'."

Then, Kangta, BoA, TVXQ, Super Junior's Yesung, Girls' Generation's Taeyeon, SHINee's Jonghyun, f(x)'s Luna, EXO's Baekhyun, D.O., Chen, and Lu Han sang SM's main song "Dear My Family."

This was watched by 40,000 fans that came from 30 different countries. When Kangta and BoA's declaration was over, SM's head Lee Soo Man raising his hands up in the air was shown through the screen.

After the world tours in 2008 and 2010, this year is the 3rd world tour that is like a 'full package', with the artists showing many different things.

All artists, totaling up to 52 singers including Super Junior, SHINee, BoA, TVXQ, Girls' Generation, EXO, and Kim Min Jong, they performed about 51 songs, which lasted about 4 hours.

The world tour was an event that showed all the different colors of the artists. BoA, though standing in the stage alone, filled up the stage, TVXQ filled up all the emptiness though they are missing 3 members from the original team, Super Junior made a grand performance with all of their 10 members, Girls' Generation showed off their trademark of elegant synchronized choreography, and many other groups showed their own colors.

Performances with mixture of members from different teams were also shown. f(x)'s Amber, SHINee's Key, and EXO's Chris performed "Like a G6" by Far East Movement, and the sisters of SM Jessica and Krystal performed "California Girls" by Katy Perry.

The best friends Changmin and Kyuhyun of Super Junior sang "Just the Way You Are" by Bruno Mars, and Super Junior's Ryeowook and EXO's D.O. sang "Missing You" by a past SM artist, Fly to the Sky.

Girls' Generation's unit group TaeTiSeo and EXO's member D.O., Chanyeol, Lu Han, and Sehun sang "DJ Got Us Falling in Love" by Usher, and SHINee's Jonghyun and Taemin sang "Internet War" by SeoTaeJi. Girls' Generation's Taeyeon also performed "Devil's Cry" before the group's "Run Devil Run" performance.

TVXQ's Yunho, Super Junior's Eunhyuk, SHINee's Taemin, Girls' Generation's Hyoyeon, Yoona, Yuri, f(x)'s Victoria, EXO's Kai, and Tao also had dance parades on the stage.

The concert was finished by all the artists singing H.O.T's hit song "Hope."

More than anything, this concert was an event to see the past 16 years of SMTOWN's history as it grew from year 1996 when H.O.T made their debut till today. This year's concert seemed to be a level upgraded from "SMTOWN Live World Tour II" held two years ago.

What was also memorable was the change in music for all the teams. Rock sound was made stronger to fit the scale of the concert, making the stages of SHINee and Super Junior much grander.

This concert was also a concert that collected all the different skills of the artists that they developed throughout the years. Especially SHINee and Super Junior had a 2-floor turn table on the stage.

It rained throughout the whole concert, but that could not kill the fire of the audience members and the artists. The rain even benefitted the concert by adding special effects to the stage performances.

Every time an announcement was made, it was repeated in English, Japanese, and Chinese. This seemed to represent how far SMTOWN has reached in this world.

SMTOWN LIVE WORLD TOUR III, who had gone through Los Angeles, Taiwan, Japan, and Seoul, will now go to Indonesia on September 22.
