Archery Goddess SISTAR Bora Challenges Girls Generation(SNSD) and T-ARA

SISTAR's Bora is setting foot into the online game scene with her new nickname as the Archery Goddess.

LNK Logic Korea chose SISTAR as their promo models for their new online game, 'MIRROR WAR' that is being released on Saturday.

The reason that people are paying attention to this is because Bora scored a perfect gold at the 'IDOL OLYMPICS' which aired in time with the London Olympics on July 26th. 

'MIRROR WAR' is a unique shooting online RPG and the game involves shooting missiles, which is why they thought Bora would be the right promo model for it. For the other characters, Hyorin was given the 'warrior' character, Dasom was given the 'healer' character and Soyoo was given the 'spirit wizard' character.

For obvious reasons, Bora has been given the 'Archer' character, with her real life skills having been proven on TV. 

LNK Logic Korea's representative said, "SISTAR has 4 members and 'MIRROR WAR' has four different classes of players and that's how we decided to play the launching event. It was an obvious choice to give Bora the archer character because she is actually good at archery."

'MIRROR WAR' mostly targets the teenage male population to play the game and this is a new expansion of the original game, which was released around 2000. 

LNK Logic Korea is not the first to use a girl group as its promo models and this news is drawing attention to other girl groups who were chosen for the same role. 

It is said that one of the criteria for popularity amongst girl groups is whether they've been chosen as online game promo models. Popular girl groups like Girls Generation, Wonder Girls and KARA were models for the popular basketball game 'FREESTYLE.' Some of them didn't stop at just being models but were actually characters that people could use, if they paid money. 

T-ARA was the promo models for 'GET AMPED' and casual game 'HEBACLONIA.' f(x) was the model for 'Grand Age,' and Sulli was a model for the soccer game 'FIFA ONLINE 2.'

Girls' Day and Dal Shabet were models for 'Dungeon & Fighter,' SECRET for fishing game 'Grand Mer', KARA's Koo Hara for 'Puzzle Bubble Online' and Nine Muses for the dance game 'Club M Star.'

IU was the model for an online racing game and G.Na for 'Maestia.'

A game industry insider said, "The biggest fan bases for the popular girl groups are exactly the population that we're trying to target. We believe that game companies will continue to use idol girl groups as promo models. People are trying to find correlations like MIRROR WAR and their choice of SISTAR rather than just go by popularity."
