One Direction singer Liam Payne and his girlfriend Sophia Smith's Halloween costumes were on point! Liam Payne went as The Joker and Sophia Smith went as Maleficent! Though they didn't necessarily coordinate to match, their costumes were really well done, especially considering the One Direction singer seemed to have trouble deciding on a costume when he turned to his Twitter fans for suggestions.

According to Cambio, Liam Payne hit up his favorite nightclub, Funky Buddha, with his girlfriend Sophia Smith for Halloween. Liam dressed as The Joker in a green-blonde wig, tons of makeup, and the perfect character-fitting smirk.

His girlfriend Sophia Smith rocked Maleficent's horns, pale face makeup, contoured cheek bones, and a bold red clip. They both looked creepy and perfectly Halloween-themed together! In some photos, it looks like Liam is having quite the blast as The Joker!

The One Direction singer's costume came out pretty well considering he must have come up with it pretty last minute. Cambio reports that on October 26, Liam Payne took to Twitter to ask fans for Halloween costume suggestions. "What shall I be for Halloween this year," he tweeted. The publication reports fans gave him costume ideas ranging from a cat to Beyonce!

"Some really interesting costumes coming through," he commented with a sly face.

As fans will know, Liam is very active on his Twitter account. As we previously reported, last month he took to Twitter to call out fans who were reportedly dissing his girlfriend, starting quite the Twitter fight amongst Directioners. Though some continue to insult his girlfriend Sophia Smith, others showed their support for their relationship by getting the phrase "#WeAllRespectLiamAndSophia" to trend on Twitter.

According to Unreality TV, Liam Payne reportedly sent a direction message to a fan in particular who was saying rude things about his girlfriend Sophia Smith, most likely out of jealousy.

"Can you stop what you're saying please because I happen to care about that person," Liam wrote.

"More than anyone in the world...

"And I don't think you'd appreciate me sayings stuff about someone who meant that much to you."

Last night Liam tweeted: "Good evening everyone," followed with an 'angry face' emoticon, according to Unreality TV.

When Directioners asked what the long face was for, he wrote on Twitter: "Arguing with one person is arguing with one person not everyone.

"To the rest of you who actually are fans of us, I love you."

A fan then wrote: "Liam's last tweet made me happy because I don't want the boys to think were all rude and that we don't want them to be happy."

Payne responded: "I know you're not there's a lot of very strange people on here but I know there are more genuine fans."

The drama spurred some fans to stick up for Liam and began the trending hashtag "#WeAllRespectLiamAndSophia" and "#SmileLiam."

The 21-year-old One Direction singer has been dating Sophia Smith on and off since July 2013, after splitting from ex girlfriend Danielle Peazer.
