Super Junior Shindong Confirms Enlistment Date At The End Of The Month

Another member of Super Junior will be heading to the army.

On November 5, SM Entertainment confirmed that Super Junior's member Shindong will be enlisting in the Korean army on November 25.  Shindong has been preparing for his enlistment since July, when he started stepping down from his activities.

The idol will be the fifth member of the group to enter his mandatory 21 months of military service.

SM Entertainment revealed that Shindong will be part of the 306th battalion once he enlists on November 25, and will undergo basic training in Uijeongbu, Gyeonggi-do, just north of Seoul.

Shindong has started to lessen his activities as a Super Junior member, in order to prepare for his army service. The idol did not appear at Super Junior's Super Show 6 shows at the Tokyo Dome at the end of October.

The longtime DJ also ended his six-year stint as the host of Shimshimtapa in July, shortly after revealing that he would be enlisting before the end of 2014.

Super Junior's Yesung is also currently serving in the Korean army, and will be discharged in May, 2015.

Super Junior currently has ten active members, with Yesung and Kim Kibum being inactive.  There are also two subgroup members, Henry and Zhoumi, who are part of Super Junior-M. Due to the large number of members, Super Junior has successfully transitioned members in and out in order to enter their obligatory military service by the time they are 30.
