3 Reasons To Watch The 'MelOn Music Awards 2014' On November 13th

It's awards show season for sure! One of the first major music shows of the year, the 'MelOn Music Awards,' are scheduled to kick things off this November 13.

Known for judging the winners based on online fan votes and digital album sales, this year, the 'MelOn Music Awards' are sure to be diverse due to many people from all around the world submitting their votes for their favorite K-Pop stars.  

Here are some reasons why you should tune in to watch the music award show this Thursday.

Great Line-Up is in Place For The Night

'MelOn Music Awards' 2014 has an impressive line-up of performers scheduled to perform this coming Thursday. IU, SISTAR, Big Bang's Taeyang, IU, WINNER, Girl's Day, BEAST, Raina & San E, A Pink, and Soyou & JungGiGo will all hit the stage to sing some of the year's biggest hits.

Not only are there going to be great performances, but trophy awards will be given to some of your favorite K-Pop stars. Tune in to find out who takes home coveted distinctions such as 'Song of the Year,' 'Album of the Year,' 'Rookie of the Year,' and 'Artist of the Year.'

There will also be a new award that will be introduced this year. This award will go to a K-Pop star who is popular online thanks to their fans globally and is fittingly called the 'Web Users' Favorite.'

Idols Up For Multiple Awards

Competition is sure to be tough this year as some K-Pop idols are nominated in various award categories.

The idols who are running for 'Best Idol Of The Year' include BEAST, IU, SISTAR, Girl's Day, Winner, Big Bang member Taeyang, EXO, 2NE1, g.o.d, and Akdong Musician.

There are some awesome rookie groups who made their debut on the K-Pop industry. The artists nominated for the 'Rookie' award are YG Entertainment's male group WINNER, Park Boram, SM Entertainment's female group Red Velvet.

For the 'Netizens' award, the stars nominated include INFINITE, EXO, BEAST, WINNER, and B1A4.

The 'MelOn Music Awards 2014' will be broadcasted on MBC Music, MBC Every1, and MBC Queen in South Korea, but fans around the world will be able to watch the ceremony streamed live on 1theK's official YouTube page and Melon's website.

The award show will kick off at 10 PM KST on Thursday, November 13, and will be held at the Gymnastics Stadium in Olympic Park in Seoul.
