Rachel Bilson and Hayden Christensen are parents!

The couple announced the birth of their baby girl on Thursday in a statement given to E! News. And it seems they decided to bestow their newborn with a fairytale-inspired name.

"Hayden Christensen and Rachel Bilson welcome their daughter Briar Rose Christensen born on October 29, 2014," said the proud parents.

Briar Rose is of course a nickname used by Princess Aurora in the classic fairytale Sleeping Beauty, which Disney turned into a popular animated film.

According to Wikipedia, Christensen's grandmother is named Rose Schwartz, so that likely played in the new parents' baby name decision.

"Both mother and baby are healthy and doing well," added Rachel, 33, and Hayden, 33, in their statement to E! News. "They are asking for privacy and subscribe to the No Kids Policy."

The No Kids Policy is an initiative taken by many public figures to limit their exposure to media sources and prevent their pictures from circulating online.

Actress Kristen Bell, who is currently expecting her second child with husband Dax Shepard, is an advocate for the policy and has spoken about the issue publicly on several occasions.

"I've heard from a couple different people who certainly get stalked much more significantly than we do that it's quite literally changed their day to day lives with their kids," Bell told the Huffington Post in June. "I'm a firm believer that all we have is our collective consciousness. Moms especially, but parents and informed consumers just decided it was a line that shouldn't be crossed. We've started to see the results and I'm very grateful for it. I think it makes for a more positive media monster."

So don't expect photos of little Briar Rose anytime soon. Oh well.
