Why is T-ARA 's Comeback so Rushed?

Only a month after the bullying controversy earlier this summer, T-ARA is scheduled to release their new song "Sexy Love" this coming Monday (September 3). Even though the public is still upset about their controversy that stirred the nation, T-ARA and their entertainment agency is not changing the release date of their new song.

Core Contents Media, T-ARA's entertainment agency stated, "We can't push the release date any further because of the international concert and release dates that have all been scheduled prior to the controversy." However, the only thing that enables the comeback of any celebrity is because there are a significant number of fans waiting. When the online bulletin boards are carefully observed, it is only a mystery whether T-ARA still has fans waiting or not.

Core Contents Media dismissed any more discussions of the controversy after releasing a single page apology letter regarding the situation, then revealed that T-ARA will return with a new song. However, Kim Kwang Soo, the CEO of Core Contents Media is a representative who emphasizes the importance on the opinions of the people in the online community. Kim Kwang Soo stated, "It is better for celebrities to receive a reasonable amount of love and support from the majority of the population than to receive strong and faithful love and support from a small number of fans."

This time however, Kim Kwang Soo is taking a new approach since he is putting more importance on T-ARA's schedule rather than the popular belief. What is the reason? Looking back at T-ARA's promotional activities this year, the reason behind their rushed comeback schedule will be discussed.

"Third Anniversary of their Debut" Busy Business Schedule Early 2012

Since the beginning of this year, Kim Kwang Soo was fully occupied making plans in the business aspect of the music industry. It was the 3rd anniversary of the most successful group from his agency. Stocks were rising after their songs "Roly Poly", "Lovey Dovey" and many others became instant hits. Members were caught up in their busy schedules and even revealed, "We get two hours of sleep per day if we're lucky. Sometimes we only sleep 30 minutes."

One of the plans for T-ARA's 3rd anniversary was to establish an official fan club operated by Core Contents Media. At the time, Kim Kwang Soo stated, "We felt that T-ARA has become one of the main representing artists of Korea" which was the reason why they wanted the establishment of the fan club. It meant that T-ARA's value in the music market has sky rocketed.

However, throughout their career, there were many rumors regarding the members of T-ARA. Whenever something became an issue, Core Contents Media handled the situation flawlessly. For example, an episode of SBS "Inkigayo" showed a scene where a part of ex-T-ARA member Hwayoung's chest was revealed. Regardless of how big the issue became, Core Contents Media refused to provide any explanation or apology regarding anything even when T-ARA's killer schedule was revealed, shocking the nation.

In February, Core Contents Media revealed that all members will stop their acting for a while because of their promotional activities as the idol group T-ARA; which was also a part of Kim Kwang Soo's plan for T-ARA's 3rd year anniversary, along with establishing the fan club as well as holding a major concert.

The Reason Why Core Contents Media Creates an Image of Having a Lot of Money

Earlier this year in March, Core Contents Media released countless press releases regarding money. First, "T-ARA Insured with a $10 million USD plan" and shocked the nation with Kim Kwang Soo's huge scale. Also, Core Contents Media revealed that a Japanese agency offered $2 million USD for T-ARA's photos as well as news of their multi-million dollar contract deals and the opening of an online shopping mall. After these types of news were released, Core Contents Media representatives were said to have found the continuous source of money and revealed that their main focus was money.

However, during the similar time frame, there were many occurrences that negatively affected T-ARA and Core Contents Media. First, Hwang Jung Eum's contract with Core Contents Media completely ended in March. A representative revealed, "It's true that Hwang Jung Eum received various love calls from different entertainment agencies after hearing about the completion of her contract with us" and revealed their concern. Hwang Jung Eum signed a contract with SidusHQ Entertainment in April, disappointing Core Contents Media.

Also in April, the Core Contents Media office building went into the market for sale. It was a result of the bank demanding Core Contents to repay approximately $1.2 million USD. The property was sold at the price of about $3.5 million USD, well below the estimated price range.

In addition, the girl group Gangkiz debuted in May but has not been successful in gaining any attention. Kim Kwang Soo's worries are only multiplying as he finds himself unable to create any new successful groups like T-ARA and Davichi.

In April, Core Contents Media revealed that two new members will be added to T-ARA. When the news was revealed, they also added that one or few of the original members may be taken out. Deciding on a major change like that revealed quite a lot since T-ARA was at the climax of their career. People commented that the decision may have resulted from finding out about the hostile relationships of the members.

Economic Fall... "T-ARA's Bullying Controversy"

The biggest factor in their downfall resulted from the bullying controversy within the members of T-ARA. T-ARA was continuing their promotional activities in Japan, selling out an exclusive concert seating 20,000 fans. After the controversy however, their 3rd anniversary concert had to be cancelled. All of their detailed plans for their 3rd anniversary went down the drain as their bullying controversy grew into a national problem.

Unlike their previously released statements regarding their inability to find time to take on any acting roles, few of the members were already appearing in various dramas and TV shows. After the breakout of their controversy however, the roles of the T-ARA members were cut from the dramas and even their endorsement deals were cut short.

The cost of T-ARA's bullying controversy is probably the reason why their comeback date is so soon. The economic toll that resulted from the controversy is the biggest reason Core Contents Media must rush in their plans to continue on with T-ARA's schedule.
