Review: Brave Brothers And AOA Make Magic Once Again With The New Single 'Like A Cat' [VIDEO]

There is no shortage of talented people hard at work behind the scenes in South Korean recording studios. But when it comes to K-pop producers, there is one name that stands above the rest-Brave Brothers.

With collaborations with over 50 K-pop acts to his credit, the 35-year-old rapper-turned Hallyu hitmaker has continued to experiment with new sounds and styles while producing everyone from 4Minute to Big Bang and from After School to Z:EA.

But no matter how eclectic his sound gets, it is always clearly a Brave Brothers production.

With shades of acoustic rock, 1980s Cuban dance music and early hip-hop, "Like A Cat," the title track of the new AOA album scheduled for release on Thursday, is a classic example of how Brothers has become a genre onto himself, instantly recognizable yet nearly indefinable.

He seems always be able to bring out a certain dangerous quality or urgency in whatever artist he works with and the seven members of AOA, for their part, deliver vocals that have spirit and spunk, helping to hammer home the musical ideas of K-pop's most innovative producer.

AOA's clear commitment to the song carries over into the visual representation of "Like A Cat," the music video, reimagining the band members as cat burglars, is arguably their most intriguing clip to date.

Though the confident power of the vocals on "Like A Cat" does lead one to wonder if they could have gotten away with a a bit less production and what sounds like pitch correction. Though, taken as a whole, the single is a juggernaut.

Brothers co-wrote and produced three of the six songs on "Like A Cat," the most recent installment of a producer who has loomed large in AOA's recorded output.

Let's hope this is only the beginning of a beautiful friendship.
