Singer and actress IU reached the one million Twitter milestone on November 12th.

Just prior to winning the MelOn Music Award for Artist of the Year, the talented young singer broke a million followers on the social network.

Known in South Korea as the "Nation's Little Sister," IU was recently promoted from a policewoman to Senior Officer as she is working hard to stop bullying in South Korea.

With her dedication and initiative to help her country, it is no surprise why the young star has reached one million followers on her Twitter profile.

Now that IU has reached one million followers, she joins other K-Pop idols such as Super Junior's Siwon & Heechul, 2NE1's Dara, Psy, 2AM's Jokwon, miss A's Min, and others who have reached the one million mark. 

Most recently, IU performed at the 2014 'Melon Music Awards' where she took home one of the night's top prizes - the 'Best Artist of the Year' award.
