Cake Boss Buddy Valastro Arrested For DUI, Incident Occurs Days After Opening New Carlo’s Bakery In New Jersey

It's been a crazy week for Cake Boss star Buddy Valastro.

The celebrity pastry chef, who stars in the TLC reality series "Cake Boss," was arrested for a DUI early Thursday morning for driving while intoxicated. The incident comes just days after Valastro, who's given first name is Bartolo, opened a new location of his famous chain, Carlo's Bakery.

According to TMZ, police officers reportedly noticed Valastro weaving down 10th avenue in Lower Manhattan in his 2014 yellow Corvette around 1 a.m. He was swerving between 20th and 32nd streets while travelling north. When the law enforcement officers pulled the TLC star over, they allegedly smelled a strong scent of alcohol in the car.

CBS News reports that Valastro's eyes were bloodshot and his face was flushed at the time.

Valastro was purportedly given several sobriety tests, all of which he failed. In the report by TMZ, the publication quotes an NYPD officer as saying that the "Cake Boss" star "blew well above the legal limit" during one test.

The pastry chef and television star was then booked and will go before a judge who will set bail.

Earlier this week, Valastro opened a new location of Carlo's bakery in Marlton, New Jersey.

The famous baker posted a photo from the new bakeshop on Instagram on Wednesday.

"Here In Carlos bakery Marlton and what a great reaction from the community I love this place I feel at home here @carlosbakery," Valastro captioned the photo.

Many of his fans have jumped to the TV star's defense on social media, telling Valastro to keep his head up in spite of the arrest.
