Park Yoochun and Song Joong Ki are easily two of the most recognizable names amongst young actors recently. They have been steadily growing their filmographies and participating in good projects that draw positive feedback from critics and audiences. What is their true appeal? Let's look at each individual actor.

Park Yoochun

An actor has to have the ability to find some common ground with the character that he is portraying. In this manner, Park Yoochun is talented. Ever since TVXQ, he had great stage presence and though he wasn't the lead vocal or the team's best dancer, he knew how to portray the song's emotions.

Most of the time, when an idol star steps into a drama, there is bound to be negative reactions to it. But he was different. With his first project, "Sungkyunkwan Scandal," he never got any criticism about his acting skills and he was able to pull off his role, away from the typical stereotypes that labeled him the pretty boy and just an idol singer.

Even while he was singing on stage, he was never known to be an overly exaggerating performer. Everything he had was mostly subtle but when translated to the screen, this seemed like the real thing, which is a rare and very useful talent.

It's notable to see that he has also built 'technique,' and also kept his own sense of emotions. As a result, his acting is becoming more natural and more organic, which is resulting in a widespread acceptance as a skilled actor. He has yet to appear in a movie and surely there are many scenarios calling his name but according to his management, he will most likely appear in another drama yet again.

He may be in talks to appear alongside Son Ye Jin in a new drama and if he agrees, it might be a good opportunity for him to build some more experience next to an incredibly talented actress.

Song Joong Ki

One of the things that experts and viewers alike noticed about Song Joong Ki was his appearance. Ever since his debut project, "Ssanghwajum" he was noted for his dashing good looks. He was the pretty boy that everyone dreamed of.

This meant that he had a clear path that could take him to success but he didn't follow the typical footsteps of a pretty boy actor. Instead, he chose to participate in projects that gave him the most memorable roles after careful consideration. This is one of the reasons why he was able to build upon a particular image and a set of acting skills that would prove incredibly useful in the future.

The thing he most fears is being type cast in a particular image. As a result, he tried appearing in a variety of projects. Just look at his filmography and you quickly realize that many of his choices are now incredibly wise. We've been able to see his incredibly unique expression of emotion and story as a result of his charm.

Once he finishes "Wolf Boy" and "The World's Nicest Man," he will have completed a really interesting spectrum of roles and therefore he is, at this point, at one of the turning points of his career. His future projects will depend on how he is able to portray the two roles he has been potentially offered.
