Washington First Grader Denied School Meal Meets Lunch Lady From Hell: The Cascade View Elementary Employee Told The 7 Year Old 'Guess What, You Can't Have A Lunch,' Leaving Him Hungry [VIDEO]

A first grade boy from Snohomish, Washington had a horrible day at school - and he didn't do anything to deserve it. The 7-year-old named Xavier told KCPQ he was denied school lunch at Cascade View Elementary, because the cafeteria employee bluntly told him he "[couldn't] have lunch."

It's October 20, and lunch time at Cascade View Elementary in Snohomish, Washington. As Xavier awaits his lunch, he's suddenly faced with a lunch lady from hell.

"It was a sack lunch. It was in a bag. She was passing it around to everybody. The lunch lady said, 'Guess what? You can't have a lunch.' She said that. She said I can't have a lunch," explains the 7-year-old (click here to watch the video interview with the young boy).

So how did the situation get to this point?

The student, who is on the free-lunch program, was left hungry after being unfairly reprimanded by the lunch lady for apparently having "a negative lunch balance." Xavier's father Eric scratched his head in shock at the inappropriate treatment, explaining "My question was never answered as to why he was denied. I was very mad. I couldn't believe it happened. It happened to me as a child and I could still feel that hurt and I can only imagine what he went through."

The National Lunch Program provides more than 30 million children with nutritionally balance meals for low or no cost through federal funding. Xavier's father explained to KCPQ that the family receives food stamps from the state, allowing his son's lunch balance to be fully covered through state funding.

What exactly went wrong in this specific situation is still unknown, though the Snohomish County School District is apparently investigating the incident. Nonetheless, "the school spokesperson says whenever a student's account is negative $20 or more, the child gets a cheese sandwich and unlimited fruits and veggies from the salad bar, along with a drink," explains KCPQ.

Why did this not apply to Xavier? At this point, it seems as though the lunch lady did not follow protocol when she believed the first grader's balance to be in the negative soon. Whether the employee was having a bad day, had a personal vendetta against the child, or otherwise, this is clearly a very sad instance of negligence on the account of school faculty.

"Feed them. They need to eat. They need to concentrate. They can't concentrate without eating. I just don't want this to happen to any other kid. It's hurtful," warns Eric.

According to the Stir, Xavier's father is so frustrated with the handling of the issue that he is considering withdrawing his kids from the Snohomish County school.
