Five Times G-Dragon & Taeyang Were Awesome Together

Big Bang’s G-Dragon and Taeyang are set to drop the latest sub-unit from YG Entertainment entitled GD x Taeyang. The group mates and friends have previously worked together with “Ringa Linga” serving as one of the best examples of their collaborative potential. However, “Good Boy” will provide the duo with an opportunity to shine together, beyond Big Bang.

On November 19, YG Entertainment released a second teaser image for the “Good Boy” music video. The image supports photos which were previously leaked from the Los Angeles video shoot. YG Entertainment also revealed the logo for the collaboration - GD x Taeyang will be represented by the symbol utilized by G-Dragon for “Coup d’Etat” which is then surrounded by a sun, taken from Taeyang's recent album Rise.

Now the pair are officially back with their latest collaboration and fans couldn't be happier. "Good Boy" was released on November 21 at midnight (KST) and is a solid EDM hip-hop track with good beats and a whole lot of personality:

Here is a look at other instances when G-Dragon and Taeyang have come together to make magic.

1. GD & YB were originally supposed to debut as the duo GDYB but came together to make Big Bang awesome!

Taeyang and G-Dragon befriended each other during their trainee days at YG Entertainment. The duo was originally supposed to debut together as a hip-hop concept prior to the formation of Big Bang. While they not make an official debut as GDYB, the duo appeared together on the 2002 YG Family album with the song “Unfold at a Higher Place.”

Following Big Bang, the two friends would perform stages with one another including this 2010 stage of the Deux hit “Look Back at Me.”

2. Taeyang and G-Dragon were a power duo at 2014 Paris Fashion Week.

In the past year, G-Dragon and Taeyang have frequently featured together. In January, they traveled to France to participate in 2014 Paris Fashion Week. During their time in Paris, Taeyang and G-Dragon attracted the attention of international publications ranging from New York Magazine, Women’s Wear Daily (WWD), and W. While they may have previously been considered fashionistas, G-Dragon and Taeyang solidified their place with the fashion house Chanel and Karl Lagerfeld during this trip.

3. G-Dragon’s production on ‘Ringa Linga’ helped to make the song into a stellar hit for Taeyang.

G-Dragon was responsible for the production on Taeyang’s 2013 single release “Ringa Linga.” Prior to “Ringa Linga,” the duo appeared together on various other projects including Lexy’s “Super Fly,” “Korean Dream” from the album “Heartbreaker,” and “Let’s Talk About Love” from Seungri’s 2013 solo release.

 4. They have the most interesting social media accounts of out the Big Bang members.

Seungri may have provided some laughs when he first launched his Twitter account but G-Dragon and Taeyang have the most fascinating SNS accounts out of the five group members. G-Dragon often posts interesting photography paired with slightly cryptic messages while Taeyang is generally upbeat with his posts.

5. They were fantastic during their 2013 SBS Gayo Daejun performance of ‘Bad Boy.’

Before “Good Boy,” the duo performed “Bad Boy” together. Will the song be a continuation of the hit from the “Alive” album or will it venture into the territory of EDM that was heard on “Ringa Linga?”

G-Dragon and Taeyang will drop the single and music video for “Good Boy” at midnight (KST) on November 21.
