What Happened to Psy 60 Days After 'Gangnam Style' Release? 'A Legend with Just One Song'

Tomorrow marks 60 days since Psy has released "Gangnam Style." He has reached over 140 million views on YouTube and has been a guest on the "The Ellen Show" with Britney Spears. What events have happened to Psy over these 60 days?

First, Psy's album was released on July 15 online. After the release of his title song, "Gangnam Style," he ranked number 1 on internet music sites such as Melon, Mnet, Olleh, Soribada and Bugs Music. This part did not surprise many as his previous songs have done the same before.

However, around the end of July, his music video began to be viewed by an international audience. This then started the foreign response to "Gangnam Style."

Famous celebrities then began to praise Psy's song. On July 29, T-Pain wrote on his twitter, "Words cannot even describe how amazing this video is..." and linked the video to his tweet. Other celebrities such as Josh Groban and Robbie Williams also praised Psy using their social platforms.  Justin Bieber's manager, Scooter Braun had also tweeted at this time, "What do I have to do to have him sign with me?"

Psy's song then became viral as he began appearing on U.S. TV shows such as "Eye Opener TV" as well as news channels like CNN. Even an online shopping site was selling "Gangnam Style" t-shirts.

France's M6 program, "7:45" also featured Psy and Psy's solo concert also sold out on tickets for 30,000 people. Hollywood media even came to this event to report to the U.S. as well.

On August 15, Times magazine's online site also featured Psy and also on the same day he flew to L.A. to talk with Scooter Braun. On September 4, Psy signed a contract with Scooter Braun's company.

Psy's almost 'forced' overseas promotion did not stop here. On August 20 he was spotted at a major league Dodgers baseball game in L.A. and also ranked number 1 on the iTunes Music Video Chart on August 21.

He had beaten Justin Bieber, Katy Perry and other stars on the charts.

Later, Katy Perry also mentioned Psy on her twitter and appeared on the show, "Chelsea Lately." The show expressed that Psy was the 'Korean Ricky Martin'. On August 29, pop star Britney Spears also mentioned him on Twitter saying that she wanted to learn the 'horse-riding' dance move as well.

On August 31, he ranked number 1 on the U.S. Billboard Social Top 50 Chart.

With all these events happening, his views on YouTube continued to rise. On September 4, he reached the 100 million mark.

On September 5, worldwide famous celebrity Tom Cruise posted on his twitter, "Would make a good future co-star Gangnam Style?"

Also on September 5, he was featured in Rolling Stones magazine where they talked about how powerful the music video was.

On September 6, Psy was invited to the MTV VMA's and expressed his thoughts on stage in Korean. He was chosen as the best dressed by Billboard.

On the 59th day after his album release, he confirmed his appearance on NBC "Today Show" for September 14. On this same day, he appeared on the Ellen Degeneres Show with Britney Spears.

This upcoming September 21 and 22, Psy will be performing at the "iHeartRadio Music festival." He is able to perform on this stage due to the request of Ryan Seacrest. He will be performing on stage alongside Taylor Swift, Usher and other famous artists.
