Because of reported back problems, Super Junior member Shindong has put his enlistment in the Korean Army off until early next year. 

Super Junior's Shindong (real name Shin Dong Hee) has postponed his plans to fulfill his mandatory military service in the South Korean army.

According to Korean media outlet Star News, Shindong will not be joining the army this year due to back pain.

Reports indicate that the boy band member is suffering from a herniated disk and that he will receive treatment before he can serve for his country.

Shindong originally planned to enlist on November 25th to serve two years as an active duty soldier as part of the 306th Army Battalion in Uijeongbu, Gyeonggi Province.

A representative from the singer's agency, SM Entertainment, confirmed the postponement. "Following treatment, Shin Dong will enlist as active duty, and will do his part to the best of his ability," said the rep. "We predict that he will be able to enlist sometime in the beginning of next year. Until that time, he will be focusing on treatment."
