K-Pop News Weekly Top 3: GD X Taeyang, JYJ Perform TVXQ Song, Nicole Makes Her Solo Debut

Check out the news stories that stole the K-Pop headlines this past week.

GD X Taeyang's 'Good Boy' Viewed Over 4 Million Times In Three Days

YG Entertainment released its first Hip-Hop Project collaboration, beginning with a collaboration of two Big Bang members, G-Dragon and Taeyang.

The Song, "Good Boy," was met with great success and was viewed over 2 million times in less than twenty-four hours. Less than three days after the release of "Good Boy," the music video had been watched over 4.5 million times. This is the first Big Bang-related Korean comeback other than solo releases since 2012's "Alive" album.

JYJ Perform TVXQ Song

The three members of JYJ performed TVXQ's "Begin" at a concert in Japan. JYJ left TVXQ in 2009 at the height of the group's popularity, and JYJ has never performed a TVXQ song since leaving SM Entertainment.

During the song, the three singers appeared emotional and shed tears. The audience shared fan cameras, which went viral and gained hundreds of comments reminiscing about the time when TVXQ was a five member group. JYJ sang the song at the very end of their concert once the lights had dimmed, after fans had already started to leave the venue.

The two groups are also said to be attending the movie premiere of Big Match on November 24. This will be the first time since TVXQ split that all five original members will be seen in public together.

Nicole Jung Debuts As Solo Artist

After several months out of the spotlight, former KARA member Nicole returned as a solo singer. Her song "MAMA" received both praises and criticism.

Nicole came back with B2M Entertainment, which is known for its vocal artists. Nicole's "MAMA" showcases Nicole's vocal skills that were less prominent amongst the five members of KARA, and shows a more mature, sultry side to Nicole.
