Super Junior & Hangeng Nominated in 2012 MTV EMA 'Worldwide Act'

Popular boy group Super Junior and former member Hangeng have been nominated for MTV EMA's Best Asia Act under the Worldwide Act category.

Other nominees are Jolin Tsai from Taiwan, EXILE from Japan and Yuna from Malaysia. Fans voting will go through 3 phrases for the category.

According to MTV, fans in Southeast Asia, China, Taiwan, Japan and Korea began to vote from September 17 to October 14 to select the "Best Asia Act." The winner will be announced online on October 15.

Simultaneously, fans in Australia and New Zealand will be voting for their "Best Australia/New Zealand Act" and other fans worldwide will be voting for their own regional favorites.

The second phase of the voting from October 15 to 29, will vote between "Best Asia Act" and "Best Australia/New Zealand Act" for the Worldwide Act Asia Pacific winner. The winner will represent the Asia Pacific region at the 2012 MTV EMA for the "Worldwide Act" category.

"Likewise, viewers from the rest of the world will be voting towards their own continental region representatives. Results from this knock-out round will be announced online on 30 October," according to MTV.

The final phase will begin on October 30 to November 9 at 11:59PM CET to vote for the winning artists to select the winner of the coveted "Worldwide Act" award in Frankfurt.

Fans are allowed to vote up to a maximum of 100 times per day.
