Mina, of girl group AOA has suffered a terrible shock with the loss of her father.

According to FNC Enertainment, Mina's father, Mr. Kwon, passed away on the morning of November 29 from cancer.

The funeral was prepared at the hospital in Chilgok and the send-off will be on December 1.

Mr. Kwon has been fighting cancer for about 3 months and Mina has been spending most of her free time caring for her father.

There was an outpouring of condolences from fans online for Mina and her family during their difficult time.

AOA recently made a comeback with "Like a Cat" and Mina will reportedly be taking some time away from promotions to be with her family and mourn.

The group is also nominated for two Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMA), Best Dance Performance (Female) and Song of the Year, for their track "Miniskirt."  It is unclear if Mina will be in attendance at the awards ceremony in Hong Kong on December 3.
