On December 2 at 24:00 KST voting for the 2014 Mnet Asian Music Awards will come to a close. With only a day left for voting, SM Entertainment’s Girls’ Generation, Super Junior, and TVXQ have maintained a lead in several key categories.

Girls’ Generation maintains a lead over YG Entertainment’s 2NE1 with more than 15.2 million votes versus 13.5 million votes. Girls’ Generation has a marginal lead with 25.6% of the popular vote, while 2NE1 has 22.7% of the vote. The powerhouse groups faced off in March 2014 with simultaneous comebacks. Both groups have witnessed scandals throughout the year but their fans have remained steadfast during the voting process for MAMA.

With only one day left to cast votes, Super Junior continues to lead in the Best Male Group category. Super Junior leads the category with 19.9 million votes versus 19.7 million votes that have been cast for their label mates EXO. Super Junior also leads EXO for the coveted Unionpay Artist of the Year award. Super Junior continues to be leading contenders for Artist of the Year with over 14.8 million votes versus 12.6 votes for EXO.

EXO also continues to trail behind their seniors TVXQ in the Best Dance Performance Male Group category. TVXQ maintains their lead in the category with 40.2% of the vote or 23.9 million votes for “Something.” Meanwhile, EXO has received 36.3% of votes for “Overdose.” On a positive note for EXO fans, the group continues to lead in the Unionpay Song of the Year category for “Overdose” with 33.6% of the popular vote versus 26.4% for TVXQ.

2014 may have been a difficult year for SM Entertainment in terms of scandals but the agency continues to wield its strength over MAMA. Fans of YG Entertainment artists will be comforted by the current results for key artists WINNER, Taeyang, and Epik High.

WINNER maintains a stronger lead over GOT7 for the Best New Artist category with 31.1% of the votes versus 28.8% for GOT7. Big Bang’s Taeyang continues to demonstrate the power of his solo release “Rise” by leading in the Best Male Artist and Best Vocal Performance Male categories.
