AOA Members Claim To Have Not Received Any Money From Their Record Label FNC Entertainment 3 Years After Debut

Despite their current popularity, K-pop girl group AOA appears to not have made any money from their activities up to this point.

On Tuesday, AOA were featured as guests on the SBS Power FM radio show "Cultwo Show." During the program, the group explained why members were spotted at a rest stop without makeup.

"Since we go to festivals and events almost every day, our members want to sleep as soon as we arrive at our dormitory," said AOA's Choa according to Koreaboo. "So we tend to remove our makeup while traveling. It's a habit so that we can sleep right away and wake up for next day's schedule."

During the interview, DJ Kim Tae Kyun also inquired the group's relationship with their record label FNC Entertainment, and its CEO.

"He bought us beef once," said AOA member Ji Min. "But last time he gave us pocket money to spend. We still don't have any personal income. He gives us pocket money so that we can spend some and buy clothes as well."

"This is something I don't worry about too much to be honest," commented kyat on allkpop. "I remember CNBlue when they just started in Japan, and then I think of them now. They are doing pretty damn well!"

"Even if AOA don't get income yet, it's just a matter of time because these girls are very talented and they are ambitious."

In October, M.I.B's Kangnam revealed his record label's debt even four years after the group's debut.

"I didn't think we would do so badly," admitted the idol on "Ssul Jeon." "It's been four years since our debut. We released seven albums but I didn't know we would do so badly. The company has a colossal debt."

Recently, AOA has been gaining popularity after releasing a series of hit singles this year, including "Miniskirt," "Short Hair" and "Like a Cat."
