EXO Top Japan's Tower Records 2014 List Of K-Pop's Best Selling Artists

Group EXO has ranked number 1 on Japan's Tower Records 2014 K-Pop Best Sellers list.

On December 1, Tower Records announced their '2014 K-Pop Best Sellers 20' list and revealed that EXO's 2nd EP, Overdose, was at the number 1 spot. This was a great feat for EXO as they beat other 'hallyu kings' including TVXQ and Big Bang.

EXO's popularity is on a much bigger scale. Their Overdose album, which released this past May, has sweeped charts in Japan, China and other parts of Asia. They also topped the Tower Records Reservations chart, daily chart and weekly chart.

EXO's sound and musical talent was also thought very high of from fans and the media as well.

Tower Records stated, "EXO has truly made fans addicted to them through their unique melody lines and concept."

2PM member Junho was also seen on this chart at number 2. His solo album, FEEL, had received a good response from fans.

Back in July, this album also took over spots 1-4 on the world albums chart as well and revealed his huge popularity in Japan.

At number 3 was Girls' Generation, number 4 with TVXQ and number 5 with SHINee.

Earlier this year in May, member of EXO-M, Kris filed a lawsuit against SM Entertainment asking to end his contract. A few months later in October, member Luhan also filed a lawsuit against the agency asking to end his contract as well.

This past summer, EXO also confirmed their official fandom name to be EXO-L.

Currently, group EXO is promoting with a total of 10 members.

EXO debuted in 2011 under SM Entertainment and started out with a total of 12 members. Their debut album and studio album both sold over 1.5 million copies worldwide and revealed their unbelievable popularity.

They have won numerous awards since their debut and is truly one of the new groups to watch out for in the K-Pop industry.
