Taiji rocked Hong Kong with his classic hit from Seo Taiji and Boys, “Come Back Home.”

MAMA 2014 was also dominated by hip-hop stages which reflected the evolving sound of Korean pop music. Bobby of the upcoming group iKON kicked off the awards with illionaire records artists Dok2 and the Quiett for “YGGR.”

Bobby and WINNER’s Mino would be present on the stage throughout the night. As two of the strongest new rappers in K-Pop male groups, they both shined on Epik High’s “Born Hater.”

Block B’s Zico and BTS’ Rap Monster are widely recognized as strong rappers. The combined hip-hop stage BTS and Block B was nothing short of classic.

EXO proved that they are back and stronger than ever through their stage. EXO picked some of the biggest awards of the night including Artist of the Year and Album of the Year. Their stage of “Overdose” helped to prove that they will continue to be one of the strongest male groups in K-Pop.

 Seo Taiji still delivers amazing performances. ‘‘Come Back Home’ was an epic blast to the past.

Seo Taiji demonstrated that he is truly a legend of Korean pop music during his performance at MAMA. His collaborative stage with IU was brilliant. His performance of “Come Back Home” was truly one of the best moments of the 2014 Mnet Asian Music Awards. His impact on current K-Pop artists and the future of Asian music was omnipresent at MAMA 2014.

YG Family Ruled MAMA With Killer Hip-Hop Stages Including 'Come Here' & 'Born Hater.’

YG Entertainment dominated the MAMA stage. The ladies from 2NE1 and the new unit HiSuhyun may have been absent but the men of YG Family were very strong. YG showcased its strong point through hip-hop stages featuring iKON’s Bobby B.I,, Masta Wu, Epik High, and Mino.

 Taeyang and G-Dragon capped off the night with the first stage performance of their newest hit “Good Boy.” “Good Boy” is another example of YG Entertainment’s incorporation of hip-hop and electronic dance music in K-Pop.

BTS and Block B came together to make magic on the stage.

The rap and dance battle between Block B and BTS was an inventive addition to the performance lineup of the program. It provided a moment for both groups to highlight their talents beyond the stages they performed on the Red Carpet.

EXO ushered in a new era with one of the strongest stages at MAMA 2014.  

SM Entertainment’s EXO is back and ready to slay the dragons of 2014. They delivered an outstanding performance. MAMA 2014 is one of the first times since the departure of Kris and Luhan that EXO has been on a world stage. While the group has performed as part of their tour, MAMA 2014 provided an opportunity for the group to show the world how strong they can be.
