According to Futon Critic, the synopsis for "I Alone" reads: "A DEAL WITH THE DEVIL - Damon (Ian Somerhalder) finds himself in hot water after he carries out a plan that requires Alaric's (Matt Davis) unwilling participation. When Elena (Nina Dobrev) shares some hopeful news with Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen) about Bonnie (Kat Graham), she is caught off guard by his reaction. Liv (guest star Penelope Mitchell) helps Damon and Elena with their plan to get Bonnie back, but when things take an unexpected turn, she's left with a difficult choice to make. Elsewhere, Matt (Zach Roerig) takes matters into his own hands when Enzo's (Michael Malarkey) actions cross the line, and Kai's (guest star Chris Wood) existence continues to be a dangerous threat."

Can Bonnie make it back in tonight's episode? According to Hypable, Bonnie will have to come back before "TVD" leaves for its winter break. Will it be tonight's episode or will they save it for the fall finale?

The publication speculates that either Bonnie and Kai come back tonight and Kai deals with Jo, Luke, and Liv tonight. Then next week, Elena's love for Damon returns before the fall finale, setting up the plot for the second half of the season.

Or Bonnie comes home with Kai, who will leave us at a cliffhanger next week when he meets his family; and Elena falls in love with Damon again.

Hypable reports that the executive producers revealed at Comic-Con that the first half of the season will deal with Bonnie and Damon - and the Salvatore is already back at home. This means the Bonnie plot will likely tie up at the end of this half of season 6.
