K-Pop News Weekly Top 3: MAMA, B.A.P Files Contract Lawsuit, 2NE1 Appears On 'America's Next Top Model' Finale

This week saw one of Korea's most prestigious award ceremonies, a lawsuit fight, and a top Korean group appearing on American television.

Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMA) Held In Hong Kong

Along with many performances, popular idol groups and solo artists earned several awards. EXO and Taeyang won the most prestigious awards. There were multiple collaboration stages that brought a new take on some of 2014's most popular songs. There were several small controversies, including accusations of a diss battle and a member of a popular idol group appearing sick after performing on stage.

B.A.P and TS Entertainment Continue To Issue Statements About Contract Issues

Following last week's news that B.A.P was filing a lawsuit against management company TS Entertainment, both TS Entertainment and B.A.P have been moving forward trying to reaffirm each side's credibility. Following a lengthy statement from TS Entertainment in regards to profit sharing and treatment of the six B.A.P members, B.A.P's legal representation said that it would be suing for defamation based on what the statement said. It is unknown whether the two sides have met yet for mediation.

2NE1 Appeared On The Finale of America's Next Top Model

The four member YG Entertainment girl group appeared on the finale of the twenty-first cycle of America's Next Top Model. CL, Dara, Minzy, and Bom appeared met the models before performing when America's Next Top Model appeared in Seoul, South Korea. 2NE1 performed their song "Crush" during the episode before the models walked the runaway.The finale was watched by around one million American viewers. America's Next Top Model crowned its first male winner during the episode.
