A tweet online read, "Psy Places Number 1 on Billboard Chart," misleading fans to believe that he really had placed first.

Today on twitter, the tweet, "Psy ranked number 1 on billboard chart" was retweeted throughout the online community. However, it was revealed that this was a false alarm as Maroon 5 was still at number 1.

Although it was a false alarm, many believe that this news will soon become a reality.

Psy is ranked number 1 on the Social 50 chart, Canada Bilboard chart, Youtube chart and others. 

Psy is currently in Korea busy with performances and concerts.

Psy has recently become a global sensation with his song, "Gangnam Style." He has ranked number 1 on iTunes in 30 countries and has ranked number 2 on the U.S. Billboard Main Single Chart 'HOT 100'. 

He has appeared on many shows such as the "Ellen Show" and "SNL" and featured on news programs such as NBC and CNN.

His music video has been the most viewed on Youtube as well with close to 300 million views.

He has also recently signed a contract with Justin Bieber's agency and plans to release his first U.S. single sometime in November.
