Review: Dynamic Duo And Lena Park Make Us Dance Without Breaking A Sweat On 'SsSs' [AUDIO]

There are two different kinds of dance songs.

Like James Brown's "Sex Machine," or, more recently, Epik High's "Born Hater," some tracks are meant to hit the listener at maximum velocity.

Other dance songs are clearly meant to make you move, but in a less strained, more sultry way.

"SsSs," the new collaboration between South Korean vocalist Lena Park and the rap group Dynamic Duo released on Friday, falls squarely in the second category, creating a vibe that is sure to bring some people closer together on the dance floor.

From Marvin Gaye to Erykah Badu, many of soul and R&B's best artists have made careers out of taking it easy on the track, laying into the cut but holding something back to keep everyone grooving all night.

Shades of both artists are apparent on "SsSs," as well as the clear influence of Atlanta rap icons Outkast, a band that can range from frenetic jams ("Hey Ya") to slick soul ("Miss Jackson"). When the beat breaks down on "SsSs," just past the two-and-a-half minute mark, it's pure André 3000.

The vocals on "SsSs," both from Lena Park and Dynamic Duo's Choiza and Gaeko, are top-notch. These three have a natural chemistry that is impossible to deny.

There are plenty of times in pop music, both in the West and the East, when producers use musical bombast and bluster to cover for acts thrown together (more often then not, a rapper or two and a singer) who clearly don't have much of a musical kinship other than the urge to absorb the other's fan base.

That couldn't be further from the truth here.

On "SsSs," Park and the Dynamic Duo prove themselves to be a formidable trio, delivering some serious power on the mic, while always remaining light on their feet.
