IU Ends Year As Most Desired Commercial Model

Once "Korea's Little Sister," IU shed her youthful image and in 2015 she became the most desired TV commercial model, a true "CF [commercial] queen" according to the Korean media.

The 21-year-old singer ended 2015 with several lucrative modeling contracts, including appearing in the commercials for soju brand Chamisul. IU signed four other contracts, and is in talks for three to appear in three more company's commercials, reported the K-Pop Herald.

2015 saw multiple high-profile music releases from IU, including collaboration, "Sogyeokdong," with one of Korea's most iconic singers, Seo Taiji.  IU also featured on HIGH4's debut song, "Not Spring, Love, or Cherry Blossom," which became one of the most viewed K-Pop videos on YouTube in 2014.

In 2014, over ten songs that IU sang or appeared in charted in the top twenty of Korea's Gaon Chart.

IU's popularity in Korea has been solidified since 2010 when her songs "Good Day" and "You and I" became one of the year's most popular songs. She has appeared as the lead actress in several dramas, including "Pretty Man" and "You're The Best, Lee Soon Shin" in 2013.

Due to her success as both a singer and an actress, IU is considered an ideal commercial model.

IU has also won several awards at this year's year-end award ceremonies. At the Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMA) IU received the Best Female Artist and Most Popular Vocalist awards, and at the 2014 MelOn Music Awards IU was also named Artist of The Year.

Along with multiple commercial filming's, IU is in the midst of preparing an album to be released in 2015. She also is in talks to appear in dramas and films in the upcoming year.
