Park Yoochun might have originally been known for his singing talents, but has rapidly made a name for himself as an actor.

The JYJ member recently won Rookie Of The Year at the Beautiful Artists Awards which was held at the Seoul Press Center International Ceremony Hall this past weekend. Park Yoochun was recognized for his work on the film The Sea Fog.

Along with his award, Park receieved 20 million won in prize money, which is estimated around $18,000 USD.

"I was happy when an article about my award also stated that I would be getting prize money," joked Park as he accepted the honor. "All joking aside, the money isn't as important as the fact that I'm actually standing here accepting this award, which I had not even dreamed of winning."

According to the star, he will be sharing the prize with the staff members who worked hard on The Sea Fog with him.

The Sea Fog is Park Yoochun's official big screen debut and his portrayal of Dong-sik, the youngest crew member on an ill-fated fishing vessel has led to critical acclaim. The film was directed by Shim Sung Bo and is based on the true story of the 25 illegal Chinese immigrants who were left to suffocate to death in the storage tank of the fishing vessel, Taechangho.
