Tumblr has released a ranking of the most reblogged K-pop artists in 2014, as part of its Year In Review. Reblogging refers to sharing across the Tumblr platform of blog entries, videos, music, photos, and other media. Tumblr has followed in the footsteps of YouTube and other social media by providing this analysis of the prominence of K-pop on its platform.

Topping the list that was compiled by Tumblr is SM Entertainment's EXO. Bangtan Boys (BTS) are next, followed by B.A.P.

The top twenty list contains many of the artists who toured internationally in 2014, as well as those who had new releases.

EXO released “Overdose” and was a hot topic of conversation due to its lineup change which is currently at ten members. Girls' Generation were also one of the most talked about groups in K-pop due to their dating announcements and the subsequent departure of Jessica.

If this list is any indication, Tumblr may be utilized by fans of male groups over those of female groups. The top twenty list only contains four female groups, with Girls' Generation placing forth. K-pop electronic group f(x) placed eleventh on the list while 2NE1 came in thirteenth place, between Block B and TVXQ. Rookie group Red Velvet also landed on the list, placing seventeenth.

The use of Tumblr has become as instrumental as YouTube, Twitter, and Facebook in the international spread of K-pop. Tumblr blogging for K-pop fans was a feature topic at KCON 2014 and it is now obvious that Tumblr realizes their impact on the industry.
