‘The Vampire Diaries’ Star Paul Wesley Wants Stefan Salvatore To ‘Take A Step Back’ From Mystic Falls; Does It Mean He Will Exit Series Soon?

Fans are still speculating about the identity of "The Vampire Diaries" cast member who allegedly refused to sign a contract for another season. Previously, " The Vampire Diaries" star Paul Wesley gave an advice for his character, Stefan Salvatore.

"Take a step back, grow some balls, man up, go chop some wood, and be a lumberjack for a while," he told Buzzfeed. This led to speculations if " The Vampire Diaries" star Paul Wesley would soon exit the hit CW show.

Nonetheless, it might likewise mean that Phoebe Tonkin's boyfriend wants nothing but for Stefan to have a break. After all, this season involves various emotions following Bonnie and Damon's fate.

Another reason why the 32-year-old might soon leave the show is his commitment to being a producer and actor for "Convergence." Filming for the sci-fi film will begin next spring in Atlanta as well as in Shanghai.

Wesley also hinted about his yearning for a different role: "My first couple of hiatuses I was looking for indies to separate me from the younger material. Now I'm looking for flawed characters, because my (Vampire Diaries) character is very heroic. My character in Convergence is not the protagonist but is the guy who pushes things a little too far, and too hard, and produces some scary results."

In a previous interview with Tri-town News, "The Vampire Diaries" star Paul Wesley also said he's unsure if the supernatural series would continue: "I definitely think the show has another year in it. Past that, I don't know - I'm not sure. I don't know if the storylines work. I don't know if anyone's going to be around. It's such a hard thing to say, but I think the show has another year in it."

Do you think Paul Wesley is eager to leave the show?
