2NE1’s ‘Crush’ Becomes The Only Recording By An Asian Artist To Make Fuse TV’s 40 Best Albums Of 2014 List

Group 2NE1’s second album, Crush, has been listed on Fuse TV’s ‘2014 Best Album 40’.

Fuse TV revealed their ‘2014 Best Album 40’ list on December 15 of artist who set records in album sales, artists who grew through their album, albums that included hit songs and more.

On this list of 40 artists, 2NE1 gained much attention as they were the only Asian artists seen on the list.

Fuse TV’s Jeff Benjamin reported that 2NE1 “did not disappoint with a slew of forward-thinking, wholly-accessible tracks.” He also states that the group has a “knack for genre-melding from the start” with their “Indian tabla drums and switchboard-button buzzing” in their song, “Come Back Home.”

The article continued to praise CL’s “MTBD” and that it sounded like an upgraded version of DJ Snake’s “Turn Down For What.”

2NE1’s album was also seen on Billboard’s ‘2014 K-Pop Best Album’ list at number 1. On Billboard’s most recently released ‘2014 Year End’ Chart, 2NE1 was seen at number 9 on the ‘World Album Artist’ category and revealed their worldwide popularity.

Aside from 2NE1, other artists including Ariana Grande, Coldplay, Eminem and others were also seen on the ‘2014 Best Album 40’ list.

Although 2NE1 has taken a break from activities in Korea, they will be meeting fans in Japan this month.

Due to Park Bom’s alleged drug scandal earlier this year, 2NE1 has decided to not attend year-end ceremonies that will be taking place.

2NE1 stated that cannot perform without their vocal member Bom and respectfully turned down invitations to the ceremonies. They also revealed that Bom is currently self reflecting during their time off.

2NE1 will be performing at the Scalar Espacio in Fukuoka on December 19 and at the Zepp Nagoya in Aichi on December 20 and meet with their fans.

They will be preparing to release an international debut album sometime next year.
