George Clooney Sony Hack Reveals Actor's Depression; Amal's Husband Lost Sleep Over Bad Reviews

Hacked Sony emails revealed that "Ocean's Eleven" star George Clooney suffered from depression after getting bad reviews for his movie "The Monuments Men." The film was launched earlier in 2014.

"The Monuments Men," which George Clooney co-wrote and directed, received mostly negative reviews, with critics saying that it was unsatisfying.

The Independent reported that George Clooney sent an email on January 29, 2014 to Sony chief Amy Pascal, with the subject heading stating "it's getting worse." He wrote Pascal that he needed protection from all the reviews.

"Let's make it a hit. I haven't slept in 30 hours. And it's 7 am", Clooney wrote in the email.

Pascal reportedly emailed the actor back, writing, "We will protect you by making money... that's the best revenge."

However, Pascal's reassuring words did not seem to affect George Clooney positively. He wrote Pascal again, "I fear I've let you all down. Not my intention. I apologize. I've just lost touch... Who knew? Sorry. I won't do it again."

The emails about George Clooney's depression over his failed attempt at directing is the latest revelation from the many communications that leaked from Sony in a major hacking incident. The perpetrators allegedly have ties to North Korea. Some speculate that the hacking was a form of revenge from North Korea after news broke that Sony produced the upcoming film "The Interview," which is a comedy about the CIA planning to assassinate Kim Jong-un.

A lot of the leaked emails were conversations involving Amy Pascal. Some included Sony executives badmouthing Will Smith and his family and even Angelina Jolie.

The irony was that George Clooney himself predicted that a Sony hack was coming. Gizmodo reported that George Clooney sent Pascal an email on September 5, 2014, entitled "knowing this email is being hacked".

Clooney previously wrote, "how much fun are we gonna have...the stakes are higher than citizen kane...if we tell the truth in a compelling way...rupert won't get time/warner...cnn won't be fox...i'm so excited to do this film...and for those of you listening in...I'm the son of a news man...everything will be double sourced...so come on with your lawsuits...fuckers..."
