Sony Hack Revelation: Andrew Garfield No Longer Spider-Man If Deal Between Sony, Marvel Happens

"Amazing Spider-Man" may be the last time that fans can see Andrew Garfield take on the role of Peter Parker, a Sony hack revelation claims.

Previously, there were reports that Marvel and Sony were collaborating to introduce "Spider-Man" into other Marvel movies featuring other popular superheroes. There is a possibility that "Spider-Man" might meet "The Avengers." However, Andrew Garfield may no longer play the part of the web-slinging hero.

Hollywood Life reported that a Sony hack email reveals that if a deal between Sony and Marvel happens, Andrew Garfield may be replaced for the title role.

The hack also shared that although discussions for a 60-40 deal is still underway, Marvel wants full creative control over the "Spider-Man" franchise, which can result to a full franchise reboot. This leaves very little opportunity for Andrew Garfield to star again as "Spider-Man." Accordingly, other members of the cast and directors including Sam Raimi and Marc Webb may also be removed if Marvel gets full control.

Marvel reportedly wanted 100 percent control over the creative aspect after "Amazing Spider-Man" failed to impress at the box office. Marvel was allegedly not satisfied with Sony's plans in subsequent "Spider-Man" movies. As a result, Marvel wanted to do a complete makeover of the franchise to create more hype and rebuild its reputation.

Sony executive Amy Pascal used to be a solid defender of Andrew Garfield to remain in the subsequent films. However, she is currently involved in a massive Sony hacking scandal, which might leave Emma Stone's boyfriend unguarded against Marvel's plans of removing him from the franchise.

In an IGN.com report, Marvel wanted to focus more on the challenges of a teenager living a double life as a hero, instead of emphasizing on romance.

This can also mean that Emma Stone, who played Andrew Garfield's love interest in the previous film, will be out of the next "Spider-Man" movie. There are also talks that "Spider-Man" may be appearing in "Captain America: Civil War," although he might be appearing limitedly since the script for "Captain America" is already set.

Sony apparently does not have a specific plan on future "Spider-Man" films or their proposals are not good enough to meet Marvel's standards.
